General Services Administration chief exits the stage

Remember Lurita Doan, the chief of the General Services Administration whose misconduct was uncovered last spring during hearings convened by the House Government Reform Committee?

I learned from this editorial in the New York Times that she finally got the axe:

It has been 11 months since investigators found that Lurita Doan, chief of the General Services Administration, violated the Hatch Act's ban on politicking on the job, asking her staff how they could "help our candidates." This week, the White House finally got around to ousting Ms. Doan from the government's principal agency for awarding rich contracts in goods and services.

The White House blandly praised Ms. Doan as it pushed her out. There was no mention, of course, of gross misbehavior when she suggested turning her agency into a patronage clubhouse. Nor was there mention of the fact that her call to the aid of the party came during a briefing for top G.S.A. managers - organized by the White House and delivered by a Karl Rove political operative - on targeted Democratic politicians.

TPMmuckraker provides much more background on her misconduct and her firing (which did not include any admission of wrongdoing).

Take a trip down memory lane and watch Congressman Bruce Braley's hilarious questioning of Doan from March 2007:

That has to be one of the highlights of Braley's first term.

Ever Seen An Administration With So Many Resignations In Disgrace??? (0.00 / 0)
Does anyone in America recall any Presidential Administration EVER in America with so many resignations in disgrace?

Two Attorney Generals, one Homeland Security nominee (no facing 142 years in prison), and on and on.

And you haven't even heard about the Republican animal from Nebraska, Hal Daub, who was once a four term US Congressman, mayor of Omaha, Nebraska, and most recently a member of the Bush Administration.

Daub was quietly removed by Bush.

Hal Daub is a violent serial rapist from Omaha, Nebraska, and sadistice heroin poisoner of Omaha's children.

During the last half of the Vietnam War, Daub concocted a ficticious "Patriotic Program" in Omaha and conned the mothers of the 2nd grade class at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Omaha into letting him into their homes when their husbands were away.

Daub then violently raped the mothers while poisoning their 7 year old children and torturing them.

Daub later went on to Congress as the Omaha Police Division covered the entire crime spree up despite the mother of a current Omaha Police Division officer being one of Daub's victims as well as the mother of a current Omaha Fire Division Captain who took his promotion to Captain in exchange for remaining silent about a serial rapist lose on the streets of Omaha for 40 years named Hal Daub.

I and the other victims of Hal Daub ask that you contact your local law enforcement agency or Congressman and ask for an investigation into Hal Daub's "Rape of Omaha" which continues to be ignored by entire state of Nebraska law enforcement from Nebraska AG Bruning down to the officer whose mother was raped twice. She was raped once by Daub and a second time by Omaha Police to keep her quiet.
