Edwards leads in new Iowa poll

Strategic Vision has released a new Iowa poll of 600 Republican and 600 Democratic likely caucus-goers.

The Democratic results are being discussed here at MyDD.

Numbers below the fold.

Strategic Vision shows very little movement in the Democratic race since the last poll they did in Iowa in December. All of the movement for every candidate is within the poll’s 4 percent margin of error, suggesting that no one got a surge of momentum from announcing his or her candidacy.

Here are the results, with the December figures in parentheses:

Edwards: 24 (25)

Clinton: 18 (15)

Obama: 18 (17)

Vilsack: 14 (16)

Biden: 5 (4)

Richardson: 3 (1)

Clark: 2 (2)

Dodd: 1 (1)

Kucinich: 1 (1)

Undecided: 14 (15)

These numbers “feel” right to me based on the anecdotal conversations I am having with Iowa Democrats I know, except that I think the true number of undecideds is way higher than 14 percent. It’s got to be at least a third, if not half, of likely caucus-goers at this point.

What do you think?
