DEMOCRAT KURT MEYER TO ANNOUNCE RUN FOR CONGRESS IN IOWA'S FOURTH DISTRICT

Many thanks to everyone who has shown interest in my campaign for Iowa's 4th Congressional District.  I'm eager for the campaign to get going and invite you all to meet me and my family at my formal announcement for candidacy this Friday, February 15th at 9 a.m.  We'll be getting together at the Cerro Gordo Court House's Director's Board Room. Hope to see you there!

  • Exciting

I make no attempt to hide my support for my particular candidate, William Meyers, but really want to meet everyone in the race, also.

I really have not heard much from others in the race and would like to meet them all. We need a change and this year it seems like we have the best chance for it. So whoever your supporting, make sure you stump hard!

  • Kurt Meyer is 100% Iowan and a great choice for Congress

It’s amazing to read the slurs being posted about Kurt Meyer, who’s seeking the Democratic nomination for Congress in the 4th CD. He’s as smart, thoughtful, principled, energetic, knowledgable, decent, and committed to the public good as anyone you could meet. Northern Iowans should be thrilled that he’s willing to challenge GOP incumbent Tom Latham. And as to one blogger’s witless claim that Kurt Meyer just moved to Iowa a few months ago, my family and I personally celebrated Thanksgiving with the entire Meyer clan AT Kurt and Paula Meyer’s home in Mona THREE YEARS AGO! And the place looked VERY lived-in.

    • having lived outside Iowa for 15 years myself

before moving back to start a family, I don’t think when someone returned to Iowa should even be an issue.

      But thanks for your post.

    • Thrilled?

I dont know if I would say thrilled, but I am excited that this primary process is going forward with a lot of good candidates. Kurt Meyer being one of them. I hope that when a candidate is chosen, that we can all rally behind him or her and really push for a victory. It won’t be easy, but with the presidential elections, redistricting and the flurry of events happening in the near future, we can’t afford to lose.
