Depose the King

It seems as though the last few days the media has done a pretty good job attacking King for his comments about Barack Obama, especially in publishing a number of letters to the editor completely lambasting him — justifiably so.

But can we finally depose the King?

Do his divisive remarks mobilize his base or will they finally send him off the edge of th cliff.  Sadly it seems as though he has enough of a base vote in Western Iowa to be safe.

Wit Iowa turning bluer and a sure presidential coattail effect (Obama with Independents and Clinton doing well in Western Iowa, this could become a competitive race.  Keep your eyes on Ron Hubler (excuse the horrific website) or any other Dem who jumps in.  Because like many of the surprising races in '06 this could shock them all and we can finally take the fifth district crown from the King.

  • no, only a GOP primary challenger

    could depose King.

And I don’t think one is likely to emerge anytime soon.

  • but still,

lets at least make him sweat!

  • Steve's a lifer...

It could come out that Steve King was one of Spitzer’s prostitutes and they still wouldn’t vote him out of office.

That said, hopefully our candidate in the Fifth can stir up democrats there and drum up some more votes for the Presidential race.

Sorry, but I don’t think Steve will even be sweating anytime soon.

  • He may not be sweating, but...

He didnt bite at the Senate Race. That has to mean something. He is, arguably the most popular and powerful Republican in the State and he passed up a chance at the senate when there were absolutely no real Republican Challengers.

Many people did not take a second look at this, but this is very important. ALL Logic says he would, plus he would have done it even if he was just priming himself for the 2010 Gubernatorial race or Grassleys seat in 2010 (assuming he retires)

King is popular and powerful and has the backing to be a very successful, but I, for one am glad that he will have to wait a little bit longer!
