Campaign Call - Now with more Teabagging!

It may be the night of the Thrilla in Sioux City, but the Secret Liberal Listening post is always on duty.  I got a call this evening from Rep. Darryl Issa (R-Cali), and he couldn't wait to get my help for his new Political Action committee, ISSAPAC, via recorded robocall.

(Caller ID registered YOUR PREF 2010, 202-630-1956.)

Congressman Issa was direct and upfront – this is who I am, and why I’m calling you!

First, do I consider myself a Constitutional Conservative?

Second, Am I upset at the fraud and waste in Washington?

Third, do I believe in and support my the ideas behind the Tea Party movement?

Issa is looking for donations as he announces the formation of his brand-new PAC – ISSAPAC!  Invest in a Strong Secure America! (http://www.issapac.com/)  Can I at this time contribute to help Darryl Issa’s PAC?

This fall, we have an ideal opportunity to put Issa in a position to fix Washington. As the Ranking Republican on the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee, he’ll be the chief Republican watchdog in Congress. As Chair, he’ll work hard to force to compel the truth from Obama’s corrupt and incompetent friends and cronies.

Before Issa hangs up, am I male?

And am I 50 or older?

Paid for by ISSAPAC.

Analysis: Here we are again, why does it matter if I am male and 50 or older?  Granted, this is the Tea Party base, but I think that they know that already, and whether or not I am an Angry Old White Man. If someone can tell me why the last 3 calls I’ve received have all confirmed these 2 datapoints, I’d be a lot less confused. (While I lie on my survey responses because its the Secret Liberal Listening Post, I won’t lie about the demographic info.)

Last time, I was called on the evening before Terry Branstad’s decision on his Lt. Governor running mate. Tonight, its the first debate of the General election. Coincidence?  I’m obviously on one certain type of call list – I should try harder to get on the other lists!
