UPDATE: The significant announcement was that the Edwards campaign has appointed county chairs as well as rural outreach chairs in all 99 counties in Iowa.

Just a guess
Obviously I have no inside information. But if I had to guess, I would say the announcement about statewide grassroots organization involves Ed Fallon and/or Denise O'Brien. I have to assume it's something worthy.

I like Ed Fallon too–he is going to be a real asset to the campaign down the stretch, I think.
