Local Foods Connection to host 5th Annual CSA Fair in Iowa City (3/7)

I'm writing as a board member and volunteer for Local Foods Connection in Iowa City.  We're a group of volunteer activists who are committed to supporting our local, sustainable farmers while making their delicious produce available to low-income residents of Iowa.

We raise money to purchase CSA (community supported agriculture) shares from local, sustainable farmers and donate these shares to low-income families.  We also provide educational opportunities for our client families, including offering recipes, cooking classes, nutrition info, and farm visits.  We also organize spring, summer, and fall farm workdays for interested volunteers and host an annual CSA Fair in Iowa City to connect local farmers with potential customers.

Our CSA Fair is a great chance for you to get to know more about the eastern iowa farms delivering fresh, organically produced produce; it's also a chance to get to know the folks at Local Foods Connection.  The event is co-sponsored by Edible Iowa River Valley, New Pioneer Co-op, and the City of Iowa City.  It's free and open to the public.

Please stop by the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center in Iowa City on Saturday, March 7th between 12pm and 4pm to meet us.  For more information, you can check out the LFC blog.  We'd love to see you there!

Be well,

Caroline

It sounds like a great event, and I know that Local Foods Connection does amazing work.

I will be sure to add this to my calendar of events for early March.
